This vintage Toleware Silent Butler is adorned with beautiful hand-painted florals in shades of rose, pink, and neutral colors, as well as greens. Originally designed as a crumb catcher, this piece is made of metal and finished in classic black. It is an excellent example of Toleware craftsmanship.

 

The term tôle, derived from the French tôle peinte, "painted sheet metal", is synonymous in English usage with japanning on tin, such as the tôle shades for bouilotte lamps and other candle shades, and trays and lidded canisters, in which stenciling and gilding often features, almost always on a black ground.

Condition of Items Listed

  • An antique is a collectible item at least 100 years old. 
  • A vintage item is a collectible that is 20 years or older.

Because of the Antique, Vintage and unique nature of my items, they will have imperfections and characteristics that are appropriate with age and that of a handmade piece. They are sold As-Is and As-Found.

  • New is a brand new item that is unused. 
  • Handmade is an item that has been made by myself or another craftsperson.

If you have damage to your order, you must file a claim directly with the Shipper. All packages have insurance. Retain all packing material and take plenty of pictures.

Shipping Details

Orders will be processed and shipped within 3-5 business days once credit card authorization and verification have been obtained.

Orders placed on Sundays will process the following business day. 

You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information when your order has shipped. 

Should there be a delay in shipping your order, I will contact you with details.
