Beautiful Flow Blue plate by John & George Alcock in Cobridge (an area of Stoke-on-Trent) Potteries in Staffordshire, England.

The J&G Alcock Company was active from 1839- 1846.The pattern is "Scinde" and dates approximately 1840-1845. The pattern was named after a province in India, now part of present-day Pakistan. The cobalt flow is a gorgeous, deep blue. The plate profile has a gently scalloped edge and is slightly paneled. The rim is outlined with scrolls enclosing a diaper pattern. The border has three groups of stylized azaleas separated by branches of prune blossoms.

The plate is marked with the Diamond Ellipse marking that reads, "SCINDE". There is also an impressed mark that reads, "ORIENTAL STONE - J. & G. ALCOCK".

Plate has a matte feel and look to it. It has crazing and staining. This has an especially pretty dark dreamy blue color!

  • An antique is a collectible item at least 100 years old. 
  • A vintage item is a collectible that is 20 years or older.

If you have damage to your order, you must file a claim directly with the Shipper. All packages have insurance. Retain all packing material and take plenty of pictures.

Shipping Details
